Shintaro Yamaguchi
Professor of Economics University of Tokyo
I am a Professor of Economics at the University of Tokyo. My research focuses on labor economics, family economics, and economics of education, with particular emphasis on how policies shape gender gaps in pay and employment, parental leave, childcare, and child development. I am also a Research Fellow at IZA@LISER and an External Research Fellow at CReAM (University College London). Since 2021, I have served as a Private Sector Member of the Cabinet Office Council for Gender Equality, providing evidence-based input to Japan's national gender policy.
